Positive psychology is the science of optimal human functioning, primarily focusing on strengths, building on optimism, cultivating positive experiences, powered by a positive mindset. “Positive psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living” (Peterson, 2008).
In the workplace, it is applied through a range of practical evidence-based coaching and tools to help teams and organisations to thrive. Delving deep in to character strengths, optimism, life satisfaction, happiness, wellbeing, gratitude, compassion (plus self-compassion), hope, self-esteem and self-confidence.
One of the benefits of practicing a positive psychological outlook is success! Not only does success make us happier, feeling happy and experiencing positive emotions actually increases our chances of success (Lyubomirsky, King, & Diener, 2005).
Mindset is everything. Powered by the growth mindset, positive psychology can be even more transformational.
“The belief that a person’s capacities and talents can be improved over time” – Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck
